[ From Concept to Shipping ]
Central Minnesota Tool has the ability to take a connector from concept to prototype to manufacturable part.
Our ability to design and build automation equipment gives CMT a competitive edge. We are one of only a few who offer this capability with stamping, molding, and automated assembly operations. A customer proposes a connector design, and then we take over and specify the stamping and molding requirements to meet final tolerances on the connector.
We have also added safety and quality systems to the mold area. We have integrated pressure and progression sensors into reel-to-reel insert molds to produce and protect quality connectors.
To complete the cycle, our automation department uses a variety of vision and sensing methods to protect the product, and the customer’s tooling, and ensure its quality.
Central Minnesota Tool currently produces products for the Mil-Aero, Automotive, Medical, Consumer Electronics, and Telecommunications markets. Automotive quality requirements are very stringent, and six sigma has been surpassed by the drive for zero defects. To meet this challenge, CMT’s focus is on the design and build of high performance tooling, and implementation of quality measures that assure we meet the demands of our customers. We also install a Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing concept to remain competitive with the markets.
CMT is a qualified supplier for Siemens/Chrysler, Sumitomo, Autosplice, Amphenol Aerospace and Delphi.
